I got to experience the Volvo 9700A, and I must say, driving this model felt quite steady and reliable. The fuel efficiency is impressive, reflecting the brand's commitment to sustainability. That said, while the upscale interior is a treat for passengers, there were moments when I felt the seating could use a bit more ergonomic refinement for prolonged journeys. Still, as a professional driver, I appreciate the level of sophistication and technology integration here.

Been on the Volvo 8900 mostly for intercity hauls. First thing, the driver's spot is real ergonomic and you don't feel cramped even after a long shift. I dig the adjustable steering and seat heating, comes in handy during cold mornings. Engine's punchy enough and smooth, rarely feel like I’m lacking power. Haven’t faced any big issues with reliability yet, but the climate system isn't super intuitive and takes a bit to get the hang of all the controls. Could use a bit more storage space for drivers, honestly. Doors open smooth with the electric system. Not the cheapest, but you get a lot for what you pay.

I've driven many buses, and the Volvo 8900 Electric stands out mainly for its advanced design and electric capabilities. I had the chance to try its shorter 12.3-meter version. First off, the seating layout with 43 seats is comfortable for passengers, though I felt the overall assembly weight at 20.6 tons slightly noticeable during maneuvering. The electric motor provides smooth performance, but I wish the charging port placement options were more universal. Overall, it has potential.

Just had a stint driving the Volvo 8900, and overall it's a decent setup. The low floor in city variants is convenient for quick passenger boarding, but I found the moderate height in the intercity version a bit cumbersome in certain schedule-tight scenarios. The diesel engine does its job, but it could offer a touch more power when fully loaded. Comfortable seating makes longer routes more pleasant for passengers.

The Volvo 8900 Electric presents a commendable direction towards sustainable mass transit. The design appears modern, although some elements, like the retention of traditional side mirrors, seem less innovative. The interior comfort is notable, especially on longer commutes. A downside is the mentioned low-hanging pole, which can pose minor inconveniences. Overall, it’s a promising model.

I've been driving the Volvo 8900 for over a year now on both city and some intercity routes. The visibility out the giant windshield is something I appreciate every trip, especially in tight urban traffic. The seats are pretty comfy, and my passengers rarely complain, so that's a plus. The gear shifts are always smooth thanks to the auto box, even if sometimes it takes its sweet time. Build quality inside feels solid but after a while there are little rattles in the cabin, not a huge deal but slightly annoying. Maintenance hasn’t been a big hassle yet, but you do need to keep an eye on the electronics and sensors. Not crazy about the rear design, but that’s just looks. Overall, I like driving it, just wish the electronics were a little sturdier.

The new Volvo 8900 Electric left me with mixed feelings. Having used the 14.9-meter version for intercity routes, I found its higher passenger capacity quite practical. However, I felt the battery weight impacts turning dynamics slightly. The range needs further testing in challenging conditions. Yet, the low-floor design offers ease of access, which passengers appreciated.

As a driver, I prioritize safety and ease of control. The collision warning system of the Volvo 8900 Electric adds assurance on busy urban roads. The ergonomic driver's seat remains comfortable even after hours of successive route cycles. Maintenance is straightforward, thanks to its standardized components, though it might not suit all budgets.

I've driven several models of Volvo buses over the years, and recently had the chance to check out the 2026 Volvo 9700A. The design is modern, and the interior feels crafted with passengers in mind. One aspect I did notice is the individual climate zones in the cabin - definitely a practical addition. The suspension system makes for a smooth ride on highways, but occasionally, I found the noise insulation could have been a bit better on rougher terrains. Overall, this model stands out in terms of comfort and functionality.

So, about the Volvo 8900. It's good but not without its quirks. The climate control zones are nice for comfort, but it takes a while to reach the desired temp on colder mornings. Handling is solid, especially in urban setups, though, on rural roads, I noticed some minor vibrations through the frame; nothing deal-breaking. The available gearbox options really help tailor the bus to specific route needs.
